Diane Wellesborn April 21, 1955home Flagstaff, Arizona Diane’s love of the wilderness goes back to the 1970’s when she first worked in Grand Canyon as well as Saguaro NM, Everglades NP, Colorado NM, Muir Woods MN, Point Reyes NS, and the Siskiyou, Willamette, San Juan, and Sequoia National forests with the Youth Conservation Corp. Having been a crew leader various projects has giving Diane exceptional organizational skills. Diane is no stranger to the Grand Canyon, having lived and worked out of the Phantom Ranger Station for a year, and having hiked over 1600 miles in the Canyon. Twenty seasons working in Parks and Forests has provided Diane with a rich knowledge and appreciation of some of our country’s most scenic and culturally significant areas. While living at the bottom of the Grand Canyon she was able to explore her interest in southwest native cultures and natural history. She continues to be active at the Park as a backpack leader/ instructor for Grand Canyon Field Institute. Diane has been an interpretive guide for the Sierra Club, the National
Park Service, and Trek America. She has experience with all age groups,
from being Program Coordinator with NAU Elderhostel in Flagstaff to serving
as Youth Conservation Corps Recreational Leader in Sequoia National Park.
