Mark Robert "Eb" Eberlein

Founder and owner of Sky Island Treks, Eb fell in love with Grand Canyon in 1971. By 1976 he had become obsessed. Living in Flagstaff Arizona from 1976-1985 Eb was quick to explore and feel at home in the inner canyon. After receiving is Bachelor of Science in Resource Management from SUNY, Syracuse, NY in 1975, Eb fought forest fires in nearly every western state and did timber inventories in Arizona and New Mexico with the Forest Service before becoming a teacher in 1989. Eb left teaching in 1998 as Sky Island Treks demanded his full time attention.

Eb has spent over 700 days in the inner canyon on overnight treks and done countless day hikes. He has trekked extensively in the Sierra Nevada, Cascades, Rocky and Appalachian Mountains as well as most of the obscure Arizona sky island and basin ranges.
